GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS

How is it going my friends?  Here is the latest news from our Site here in El Salvador. We have some news we would like to share with you.

Andrea Shetterly
Good news:
  • We are very happy to let you know that Andrea Shetterly is finally here! She is going to be a great help to Kevin at our after school program “La Fuente”. Thursday was her first time visiting the program since she arrived a few days ago and she’s excited about it. We thank God so much for his provision of workers for the harvest.
  • I received an important email yesterday and it looks like we will soon be getting a loan to purchase the intern house next door, praise God for that!
  • God is allowing us to meet with people that could partner with us in the new ministry “Diaspora”.  This is very good news since the more info we obtain, the more we will know if this is God’s will for us.
  • We had a new visitor to our last hungry service, he was excited about the church and wants to keep coming. He is a one of our returning brothers.

 Bad news:
  • Nestor Cruz injured his knee during one of the last flag football games we played this season.  Typically it takes a very long time to get an appointment within the public medicine system, like months. So it could be months for an initial appointment, months for an MRI and then months for scheduled surgery.  God provided the appointments and MRI very quickly by El Salvadoran standards.  Nestor’s diagnosis found that he has a) damaged ligament, b) chipped and floating cartilage and c) damaged meniscus. Of course, surgery is required and he’ll be getting it as soon as possible.  Which means he’ll not be able to do ministry 100% for a while;  this will be tough for the Broken Ministry team and for him.

Prayer requests:
  1. For Ness’ surgery to be scheduled very soon and that it goes excellent and for him to be healed soon afterwards.
  2. That God will finish putting everything together in order for us to buy the intern house.
  3. Pray that God will send the groups needed for the year.
  4.  Pray for the Lord’s wisdom and discernment as we pursue the start of “Diaspora”.  Is this God’s will and is this God’s timing? If this is His will, pray for the necessary resources to begin.
  5. For Andrea to adjust quickly to her role working at La Fuente.
