Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Image
Hi there! Just wanted to end this year with one more update for those of you that are always interested in hearing from our site in El Salvador. First of all thanks to all of those that were praying for our fall tour. We had a very good one. We got the chance to talk to the pastors and leaders of the different churches we were visiting. I even had the chance to co-lead worship on a Sunday at Missoula Alliance Church in Montana; it was a great time! We pray that all the work and time invested in this tour will bring the fruit for next year’s ministry down here in El Salvador.  After the tour I had the chance to come together with my wife and son again as we attended the Stateside Gathering of Envision in Colorado Springs. It was a great and refreshing time seeing people again and getting to know some new folks from Envision around the world. Then we took 4 days to go visit a friend of my childhood in California that I haven't seen for about 14 years. We had

Title for the update: Fall Tour in the States

Glad to come back to you with some news about our ministry. It’s been a bit over a week since Kevin and I got to the states to start our 2016 Fall Tour. It’s Kevin’s first time doing this! and I think he’s enjoying it, except for the chilly weather. We have had a nice time sharing with 3 churches so far. We have presented our vision to them and also updated them on how things are going in the ministry. Right now I’m writing this update from a rest area on our way from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia where we are going to be sharing a good time with our brothers and sisters from Citylight. It’s going to be exciting to see them again! They came to work with us for the first time last October and were very encouraged about what God is doing though Envision over there. Hopefully we’ll be able to start a long term relationship with them. I would like to update you on some stuff that is going on in El salvador right now.  Hungry Church: We had such a goo

Good News!

I’m so excited to let you know about some good news from our ministry.  Hungry Church: Hungry Service for September God blessed us with more people hungry for the truth! God has been faithful and there have been some new folks that have been coming to our bible studies and services. There’s a couple that has been coming for about 2 months now and want to be baptized. Praise God! This same couple invited this one guy that came last Saturday for the first time and he publicly expressed his thankfulness to his friends who invited him. Fruits are starting to come out! Daniel sharing his final message with  the students of La Fuente. La Fuente: We are so excited that we are going to be able to send at least one kid to a private high school next year! God has provided  the funds to make this possible and we continue to pray that we are going to collect the money for the second year and for some other students to have the chance to go in 20

Nestor Cruz (polo shirt and glasses) and German Argueta  (first fruit from football outreach) with 2 of the Jaguars' players. About a week ago I was talking to Nestor Cruz (Broken Ministries Coordinator) and he was telling me about how God little by little is changing the hearts of some of the players of the Jaguars, the football team we have the biggest relationship with since Ness is their Offensive Coach but in the practice more like their Head Coach now. Very encouraging stories even from a guy that used to be anti-christians and now he’s looking forward to prayer times during games, travels, or when they go out to give food away to the homeless through our ministry partners of Mission to El Salvador.   I get excited when hearing these stories and I know that is the result of all your continuing prayers for our ministry. I don't know about American Football so I asked Ness, "What’s the number of basic coaches that a team should have?" then he

Ministry Getting Done and a Big Challenge

Image
Hello my brothers and sisters! After a busy time of 4 weeks having groups back to back, I’m writing again to let you know what’s going on at our Envision Site. First of all, I want to say that it’s been a blessing to have 3 teams with us during these past weeks and to see how God worked in the lives of everybody that is around our ministry (staff, interns, residents, pastors from partner churches, kids at schools and other communities, the ministry center itself, etc.) We had the chance to share the gospel with nearly 450 kids. We also have continued building those good relationships with the football players and we have seen new people come to the services/bible studies of Hungry Church. So, thank you so much if you’re reading this update and were here hands on doing all of this work. Thanks also to those that from a distance are lifting us up in their prayers all the time, BIG THANKS! Community Heights Alliance Church sharing God's love  with a local school.

LIFE 2016

How are you? I hope God is blessing you with his grace and mercy everyday. Just wanting to bring you up to speed with things at our site. We had a small group from Missoula, Montana a couple of weeks ago. We had an amazing time with them. They were able to visit the different programs working under the Broken Ministry. It was an awesome time for us and for them to get to know first hand what happens day to day in this. They left very encouraged and planned to put some thoughts together to make some partnership suggestions to their church leadership. We are excited about the idea of enhancing this relationship with Missoula Alliance Church, MT and to see what God has in store for both sides. Tony and Kevin sharing the vision of Envision El Salvador In other news, we want to let you know that for the first time Kevin Cabrera and I are attending the LIFE Conference in Kansas City.   (The LIFE Conference is a national CM&A youth conference that happens every three years.)

READY FOR GROUPS

Hi friends, How are you? Last week we had our staff training week. We had a great time learning and remembering the different aspects, roles and important information we are to know when we work with groups. This was a time used also to get to know each other better since most of the time we are together only during work hours.   It was fun discovering new things about each other and to work together in the different physical and mental challenges of the training. Envision El Salvador Staff (except Kevin who is taking the picture) ready to go down into the crater of the Volcano of San Salvador as part of the physical challenges of training week We are getting ready to receive our next group.   A small but very important group of brothers and sisters from Missoula Alliance Church in Montana.   They are coming to learn more about what God is doing through us in El Salvador and they are also looking to enhance the relationship between their church and our site.   We are excit
