Football and a Big Challenge

Hello Brothers and Sisters!

Stopping by to let you know the latest news here at our Envision Site.

Cuddle Bears
Cuddle Bears invite the opposing
team to join them in prayer.
As you know we run a football outreach program. Part of the program is that we (Envision ESA staff + other friends) play in a local flag football league.  This season had been going really well for our team, the Cuddle Bears, and we are the only undefeated team in our division.  We won all of the games of the regular season!  As a result, some folks are interested in joining our team for next season. This is a huge blessing because it allows us to share who we are and what we believe and invite them to our Hungry Church activities (bible studies and church services). God is doing some great things through the football ministry here. Praise Him!

Another good thing happening as a result of the football ministry is that some of the girls from the female flag football team, the GoldRush, which Nestor started and coaches, has started going to minister at a place called ISNA.  ISNA is a place where the Salvadoran government houses boys that were found in the streets or have been in trouble or are being abused in their own homes.  The most recent visit was this past Wednesday. Most of the boys played a game of soccer but a few chose to draw.  One of the young boys drew very dark and sad things related to love and death. We believe that some of these kids are being influenced by demonic forces.  How sad to think that these boys may be thinking about taking their own lives.

(In Spanish, YO means I or me)
I say that this is a good thing because God is taking us to the places where we should be, speaking life to these kids and showing them that there is hope; that love exists and is something good and that God is able to change their lives if they decide to start a relationship with Him.  Although, this is a very big challenge for us as we are very limited in time and long-term human resource.  As a matter of fact, we just had two staff members return to the States (as previously reported).

Prayer requests:
  1. It looks like God is working on allowing us to get a loan to buy the house next door for the female interns which will be a big blessing.  We are expecting several female interns this summer and having the house ready would be amazing.  Please pray for that to happen.
  2.  Pray for our football outreach to be more and more effective in drawing more people to God’s feet.
  3.  Pray for this young boy at ISNA that is struggling with all this demonic influence. That God will reveal himself to him and that he will see His light.
  4. Pray for Nestor Cruz (Broken Ministries Director). He hurt his knee in one of the last football games and he’s been to the hospital several times.  He’ll be having more tests and will require rehabilitation before he’s able to come back to the office. Pray for his healing.
