Praise God for His work this year

The year is winding down at our site, and our staff will soon be on vacation. It has been a very busy and fruitful year. We've welcomed 15 groups and have had a total of 6 interns stay here. We've partnered with 5 local churches and have reached countless Salvadorans in many different neighborhoods around the country. We've connected with many of you and have established new relationships with churches all over North America. God has been at work here and there in incredible ways! We'd like to praise God in these ways:

Our site

Praise God that as a site we were able to make a substantial payment towards the mortgage of the intern house. The Father has been so incredibly faithful in providing for us this year and we are depending on Him to provide in even bigger and more amazing ways in the coming year.

Praise God for His sovereignty in the lives of our staff and interns. There was recently a break-in at the intern house, and a few items were stolen. We saw this as a clear attack from the enemy, as our interns had just returned from a weekend missionary retreat. God has been revealing to us His sovereignty when we look back and see how much worse the situation could have been had it happened while the girls were gone. We've taken many measures to better secure the open areas of the house in the garage and patio in order to prevent something like this from happening again, and so that our interns can feel comfortable in their home. Continue to pray for protection during the Christmas season, as this is a season when things like this happen more frequently.

La Fuente

Praise God for all that He has done at La Fuente. We finished the year with 21 teens, have seen one teen baptized and another graduated high school. God is on the move and is transforming hearts one teen at a time.

Praise God for our faithful and generous partners in ministry, who allowed us to gift each teen with a chicken for their family. We also sent each teen home with a care package, as well as many yummy Christmas cookies.

Praise God for the opportunity to bless our teens in this material way and for the opportunity to bring the joy and hope of Christmas to their communities.

Mavericks

Praise God for the success of the Mavericks flag football team. Many of you may have seen on Facebook that the Mavericks won the national championship! God is using coach Mario and our staff to reach and unite these girls who come from very hard places. For many of them, this may have been the first time they've amounted to something. The team hopes to travel to Guatemala in February to face the Guatemalan national champs, but nothing has been confirmed.

Praise God for working in the girls' hearts. This Friday, the girls will go with Mario to deliver the toys they collected in their toy drive to kids in Colonia Dolores and Barrio la Vega. The team chose this way to give back and serve in their communities and we know God will reveal himself through this time.

Interns

Praise God for our current interns. They have poured into our ministry and into our teens this year and we are grateful for all that they do.

Praise God for our future interns. We're expectantly waiting to see what God does through and in them as they join us in ministry.

Finally, Praise God for how you and all of our partners have remained faithful to this ministry and the work of the Kingdom in El Salvador.

Prayer requests

Please pray for protection over the Christmas season for our staff, interns and teens. That wherever they go, the Lord would go before them and prepare the way. That they and their families would be shielded from all evil and comforted by God's peace.

Please pray for provision in the new year for the ministry. That God would continue to pour out his blessing upon this site, providing groups, interns, and financial and prayer partners.

Pray for direction and wisdom for the coming year. That we would be able to prayerfully adapt and improve our programs and ministries and that our eyes would be opened to new ways we can better reach the people of this country.

Pray for our staff and teens in this holiday season. That whether or not they spend Christmas with their families, they would experience the love of Christ in remembering how he came to earth to save each of us.

Many blessings to you and your families. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
