Fruits of the harvest season

Happy October everyone!

We pray that in this harvest season, the fruit of the Spirit would be filling your lives and homes. Thank you all for how you've prayed for and loved our ministry here. Here's what we've been up to in the last month.

Our staff took part in a training last week about Trauma Competent Care put on by Back 2 Back Ministries. It was an intensive two days of learning about the impacts of trauma as well as the essential skills to work with trauma-affected kids and teenagers. We are so grateful for the opportunity to be better equipped to pour into our teenagers.

This coming year, we already have 3-4 groups planning to come serve with us in the spring and two groups are confirmed to come in the summer! We are so amazed at how God is continually sending laborers to our site and we ask Him to keep on sending teams to serve here with us!

Finally with regards to news about our site, we have one last piece of news to share...
Tony and his wife Claudia are expecting a baby girl to arrive in early March! Please join us in congratulating them and praying for their growing family!

La Fuente

The end of the school year is just about here. Our teens have been very busy working on their final projects, which will be shared and displayed during various "fairs" at their school (ie science, language, etc).

Our friends at New Life Alliance Church in Vancouver, Canada put together a great video introducing some of our teens. Check that out on their Facebook page here.

We have just started a girls bible study for our La Fuente girls. Led by our intern Brooke, the girls are diving right into the book of Romans every Friday afternoon. The 6 girls and 4 interns have been meeting in our interns' home, which has made it cosy and intimate. Please pray for focus for the girls during their time together and that God would be softening their hearts to hear these words.

Our two boys Bible studies have continued to meet and God is very much at work. One of our boys, Marcos, asked for prayer that God would help him believe that He exists. He has always struggled to believe in God, and we are so grateful that he has chosen to be a part of one of the studies. We wait patiently on the Lord for the complete redemption and transformation of Marcos' heart.

Marcos and Tony

Thursday night Bible study with Gabe (volunteer), Nacho, Tony and Marcos

Another fruit to come out of this Bible study is the baptism of our friend Carlos! Carlos comes from a deeply Catholic family, and he asked Tony to be baptized. And so, on this last Friday, Tony baptized Carlos in front of the Wired staff. We're so excited to see how God will be using Carlos in his community and in his family. He has mentioned that his sister Margarita is also interested in baptism, and we hope to talk with her soon to talk about what it would entail.

Mavericks

The Mavericks have started their new season with 13 girls. They've been doing very well and are are ranked 4th in the league. They've had several bonding and training events such as a beach workout day and a sleepover at Wired, which has helped to build community and unity amongst all these girls who come from many different backgrounds.

La Fuente FC

Our boys soccer team continues to train. They are not part of any tournament at this point, but we continue to train and spend time with our boys because we know God is at work and will use this season.

Interns

We have 2 interns who have confirmed that they'll be joining us next year! One girl will be coming in February for one month and there is a boy coming for the summer. All praise to God for these servant-hearted individuals! Please be praying for them both as they fundraise and prepare for their time here.

Please help us to pray for:

  • Tony's trip. Please pray for his safety both on flights and while he drives between churches. Pray against adverse weather and any other complications during travel. Also pray that God would give him the right words to speak. That he could communicate the heart of our ministry well and continue fostering relationships with these churches and individuals.
  • Claudia's pregnancy. That God would keep both Claudia and the baby healthy. Claudia has had a bit of a rough time even past the first trimester, and we pray that God would give her strength and energy to take care of herself and her family.
  • Groups and interns coming next year. That God would be providing for them to be able to come and join us here and that He would be readying their hearts for ministry.
  • Our La Fuente teens and their salvation. Pray that God would be putting the desire in their hearts to make important decisions like baptism and building a relationship with Christ. Pray that all their end of the year schoolwork would turn out well and that it would reflect all their growth over the past year. Please also pray that God would be actively convincing them of His existence, His goodness and His will for their lives.
  • Our girls' Bible study. That the Spirit would be so present during the girls' time together and that He would equip and empower Brooke and the other interns to build trust and community and fellowship amongst our girls.
  • Carlos and his baptism. That the Spirit would fill him every day and lead him to live for Christ in everything he does. Pray also for his relationship with his family, which has been tested as he has drawn closer to Christ.
  • Protection in general for our families, friends and staff here. That God would go before them every day, making His name known to this country through the work of these laborers.
Thank you to each and every one of you for loving this ministry and for pouring prayer into this site. We cannot wait to see what new fruits will come from this Kingdom work.

In Him,

Envision El Salvador
