Spurring One Another On

Hello Friends!

Hebrews 10:24-25 says "And let us consider how we many spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

We are excited to share with you some updates about how we have felt spurred on by the Lord, our partners and the body of Christ!

Our Site

First, we want to give all praise to God for providing a house for our interns! We officially purchased the house and we have four interns living there. We are currently developing a campaign to find churches and individuals who are willing to partner with us long term to pay for the mortgage. Please prayerfully consider partnership with us, and contact Tony at escalantet@weareenvision.com for more information.

We also want to let you all know that because of the Lord's faithful provision, Crosspoint Community Church in Wisconsin has joined us in partnership to advance the Kingdom of the Lord! We hope to glorify the Lord in this new partnership and bear fruit for the Kingdom.

We bid farewell to Kevin last month, who felt called to another Christian ministry here in El Salvador. We thank God for his time here at Wired and we pray that God would use him to reach people in this next ministry.

We're excited to have JoaquĆn Guevara now working as a full-time staff member for our La Fuente program, in addition to his previous position as our Information Technology coordinator.

La Fuente

Our biggest news from La Fuente is that we are now meeting with our students, not 1, not 2, but 5 DAYS PER WEEK! We are overjoyed that the Lord is allowing us to minister to these teens on a daily basis. Each day we pick up the teens from their neighborhoods and bring them to our Wired site. We have seen incredible changes in the teens in school and at our program now that we see them so often. We praise God for calling us to be a part of their lives!

One of our students, Gustavo, is the second recipient of the La Fuente Scholarship. We praise God that he received this scholarship and we pray that he continues to succeed in school and take advantage of opportunities to learn. The previous recipient, Margarita is now in her last year at school and is currently ranked 3rd in her class. We hope that the Lord will continue to lead her down this path and that He will provide opportunities for her to further her education.

La Fuente has recently faced some challenges with some of our students. Some boys have decided to leave the program for various reasons and we humbly pray that God would still be patiently working in their hearts and in their lives.

This last Friday, we added small group time to the La Fuente schedule. We believe the Lord is calling us to invest even more in the spiritual life of the students and we believe that this intentional small group time once a week will allow us to get to know them better on a deeper level.

The Mavericks Flag Football Club is up and running! The girls are training hard for the upcoming season, led by their loyal coach, Mario. We pray that the girls would be able to grow as a team and as individuals during these next few months.

Interns

In January, we welcomed a new intern, Hannah, who will be with us until mid-June. Hannah has been a huge blessing in helping us with English classes at La Fuente as well as finances for the site.

Hometown: Kodiak, Alaska

We also welcomed two new residents in March who will be with us for two years. Andrea will be charged with various administrative duties here at our site. Anjolenna will manage our communications and social media. Please join us in welcoming all three of these women, and in praising God for calling them to this country, this ministry and for providing the funding necessary to arrive.

Later this year, we are expecting two more interns to join us. Nathan will arrive on May 16th and will be joining us for six weeks. Brooke will arrive on June 1st and will be here for one year. Please pray that the Lord would be preparing them to serve here and providing them with people who are willing to partner with them in ministry.

Please join us in prayer for

  • Our upcoming campaign to find all the partners needed to pay the mortgage of the intern house. Again, if you feel the Spirit leading you to partner with us, please contact Tony, our site coordinator for more details. His email is escalantet@weareenvision.com
  • Strength for the staff as the summer approaches and the workload increases. We will depend on the Lord for our physical, mental, and spiritual energy to get through the summer.
  • For the teams who are coming this summer. We pray that God would prepare them with the right attitude and heart to serve El Salvador. We depend greatly on teams coming to our site, and we ask the Lord to lead more groups to join this ministry and serve, as several groups have already cancelled.
  • The teens at La Fuente, that God would keep working in hearts of kids; that God would give us the right words to build relationships and proclaim the Gospel to them everyday.
  • Our generous and faithful partners that God has provided. That God would fill their days with abundant blessings and continue to use them to be witnesses for God's love and generosity.

Thank you all for your faithfulness and obedience to the Lord.
May the peace of the Lord be with all of you always,

Envision El Salvador
