STARTING GROUP SEASON

Hello everyone,

We have been blessed in starting this year’s group season with a good group from Simpson University. The Simpson U World Serve team were the folks who started our La Fuente program at the public school in Colonia Costa Rica, San Salvador a year ago. After seeing the great impact made by La Fuente in the students’ lives, we decided that we wanted to continue this program and make it an official program of our Broken ministry. This is an important reason why groups coming to serve in our country are so important.

The Simpson group has been working with the kids for over 2 weeks now and will stay for a total of 3 full weeks. It’s been great to see them come alive as they serve these kids and encounter God in many different ways. Their faith has been strengthened and their relationship with God is being improved as they find more about God’s love and the power of the Scriptures.

For me as the Site Coordinator, hearing them talk about these things during our nightly debrief is so encouraging because this lines up with our vision which is to change families and futures for the glory of God in El Salvador.  Our vision includes not only the locals we serve here but also the group members that come to partner with us in this ministry.

Praise God!

In other news, I want to let you know that Butch and Barb Volle, interns who have spent an entire year with us faithfully serving the broken of El Salvador are heading back to the States. They have been a huge support to Football, Hungry and our most recent program Diaspora. They are going back to the States to keep spreading the word of what Envision ESA is doing here for the glory of God. They will be taking time to reflect and hear from God as to what is next for them, whether to stay in the States and work with Broken from there or to come back to continue to serve on the front line. We are very thankful for all their help to this ministry over the last year and wish them the best for their time back home.

In regards to the interns’ house, just want to let you know that we are working on the purchase, trying to get together all of the paperwork we need. One of the issues we are facing is a situation on the sellers' side, they are willing to sell the house to us but need to resolve their issue to be fully ready to sell. We need that house and we are pursuing it.

Things to pray for:
  1. We’ve had 5 groups cancel their trips. Pray that God will give us faith and patience to wait for His answer. Groups are crucial for the sustainability of the site in every sense.
  2. Pray for this group season to be very impactful in the lives of all the people that we will serve this year.
  3. Pray for the interns’ house, that the issues the sellers are having are going to be solved soon so we can go ahead and buy the house.Pray for Butch and Barb, that God will clearly let them know what’s next in their lives in terms of serving Him.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and to pray for us!
