House Next Door

Hello everyone!

Back in November our site coordinator, Tony Escalante, visited the USA to go on a tour visiting various churches that had previously sent groups to our site. One of the most important things he shared with these churches is a project we have to buy a second property. A house right next door to our actual building! We would like to be able to provide this house as a more private, safer and more home-like place for our female interns who actually live in the ministry center (This is also an idea for the guy interns in the future but we want to go one step at the time).

Also, we want to be able to host more of the Hungry Church activities like Kids Church, Bible studies, etc. in our ministry center. We want to be more intentional in creating a friendly atmosphere with the people we are reaching out to. Instead of renting someone else’s space for these activities, paying for something that will never be ours, we want to use what we have to the fullest potential.

That being said, we would like to share an update on this matter. Tony and Hamilton Martinez (our attorney) had a meeting with one of the owners of the house to make an offer for the house and propose a 4 year payment plan.  They didn’t accept either the offer or the payment plan proposal. They want the full amount of the price of the house upfront which is $100K, which means  we need to either get a loan or pray for a miracle from God in order to pay all the money up front (we are actually praying already).

We are still waiting for an answer from most of the churches Tony visited while in the U.S. He presented a proposal of a long term partnership between Envision El Salvador and the church, that includes support of $1,500 per year.  This, along with other direct donations to the project and rent from interns staying in the house, would enable us to pay for the house in 4 years.  We want to ask you for your prayers in asking God to provide the money to make it happen, it will be incredibly helpful for our ministry.

Some other prayer requests:
  1. Pray for the first Hungry service that is going to take place today at 6:00pm El Salvador time. We are expecting many visits as a result of the Football Outreach program and we want to share the Gospel with them.
  2. Pray for Butch Volle who is preaching a Salvation sermon and introducing Hungry Church to all these folks that are going to be visiting.
  3. Pray for the partnership proposal to be accepted by the churches that Tony presented it to. That will be hugely empowering to our site.
  4. Pray for Patty Barnet our HHRR Director (currently in the States) that she will be healed and released from doctors for her to be able to comeback to El Salvador and serve along side the rest of us.
  5. Pray for groups to come to our site and do ministry with us this year. We need at least 240 people to be able to fulfill our 2016 budget and we are half way through so far.
  6. Pray for interns to come and work in our various programs from the Broken Ministry.
  7. Pray for Butch and Barb Volle that are running low on their support to be able to finish their commitment through May.
  8. We are almost done with the legalization process of Envision in ESA! It’s been so amazing how God has worked things so fast for us in regards to this. Pray that nothing will interfere in the last steps and we will soon be recognized as a non profit before the Salvadoran Government.

Thanks for reading this update and we hope that God will continue to bless your life in many ways.
