Title for the update: Fall Tour in the States

Glad to come back to you with some news about our ministry.

It’s been a bit over a week since Kevin and I got to the states to start our 2016 Fall Tour. It’s Kevin’s first time doing this! and I think he’s enjoying it, except for the chilly weather.

We have had a nice time sharing with 3 churches so far. We have presented our vision to them and also updated them on how things are going in the ministry. Right now I’m writing this update from a rest area on our way from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia where we are going to be sharing a good time with our brothers and sisters from Citylight. It’s going to be exciting to see them again! They came to work with us for the first time last October and were very encouraged about what God is doing though Envision over there. Hopefully we’ll be able to start a long term relationship with them.

I would like to update you on some stuff that is going on in El salvador right now.

Hungry Church:
We had such a good time during our first “Hungry Family Day”. We had a good number of families and friends that came for either 1st or 2nd time to Hungry church and of course we took the opportunity to testify them about the gospel. It was a success and our friends from Citylight, Philadelphia were there to help with the event. Overall, we’ve seen at least 3 individuals plus 1 family that is coming in a more consistent way to our bible studies and services, Praise God!

Intern House:
Because of our actual financial situation, we were not able to purchase the house right now, but we decided to start by renting it for the first year in order to fundraise to be able (Lord willing) to buy it at the end of next year. It’s a nice house that will serve the housing needs of our girl interns well and free up space for ministry needs and guy interns at our ministry center.

Some prayer requests:

  1. We need a pastor for Hungry Church. Ideally a pastoral family or a pastoral couple that would be able to minister both men and women at the church.
  2. Pray that God will send more football coaches for us to able to join other teams in the league. The people that have been coming to Hungry lately are either playing in one of the teams or are related to someone that plays in a team, so this is key for us.
  3. That God will provide the funds through either individuals or churches who commit to give toward the intern house. The idea is to have at least 15 churches that will give $1,500 per year over the next 5 years for us to be able to pay for the house in that timeframe.
  4. Keep praying for the fundraising process of Laura Rodriguez and Andrea Shetterly as they are committed to come back to El Salvador for 2 years each and we definitely need their help.
  5. Pray that God will continue to bring people into his kingdom through each of the programs of the Broken ministry. (In regards to Diaspora, we’re still waiting on that appointment with the immigration people from El Salvador. That appointment is key for the success of this program.)
  6. Pray for strength for each one of our staff members as the workload has increased since the ministry has grown.
  7. Pray that the tour here in the US - that it will go well, and for God to give the right words to Kevin and I to present our vision and updates as best as we can.
